Space Racers thanks its fans and partners for a tremendous August Eclipse program, helping kids to safely view the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse!
Space Racers enlisted a group of Educational Partners for the eclipse program, all of whom are experts in the area of teaching space science to young children. We are grateful for the help and guidance provided by the following organizations:
Emily Calandrelli is an Emmy-nominated science TV host who is an authority on all aspects of Space Science. On August 29, 2017, she debuts her first book series Ada Lace, about an eight-year-old girl with a knack for science, math, and solving mysteries with technology! Emily has engineering degrees from West Virginia University and MIT.
David Baron is the author of American Eclipse (Liveright, 2017), which tells the true story of a total Eclipse that crossed the Wild West in 1878 and inspired America’s rise as a scientific power. Baron is a longtime public radio journalist and eclipse chaser. A former science correspondent for NPR and former science editor for PRI’s The World, he has witnessed five total solar eclipses—from Aruba to Australia to Indonesia.
